Literary and International Recognition
Writer, journalist, and human rights activist Stella Gaitano has been selected as Writer of Courage. This announcement was made by Leila Aboulela, the winner of the PEN Pinter Prize 2025.
Both writers spent their childhood in Khartoum and have written extensively about Sudan, identity, migration, and displacement.
The PEN Pinter Prize was established in 2009 in memory of Nobel Prize-winning playwright Harold Pinter.
Architecture and Science Awards
- Chinese architect Liu Jiakun won the Pritzker Architecture Prize 2025.
- Japanese mathematician Masaki Kashiwara received the Abel Prize 2025.
- Brazilian microbiologist Mariangela Hungria received the World Food Prize 2025.

- Odisha secured the first position in the 5th National Water Awards 2023.
- Prof. Jayant Vishnu Narlikar received the Vigyan Ratna Award 2025.
- Dr Jayshree Venkatesan received the Ramsar Wetland Wise Use Award 2025.
- Women’s rights activist Varsha Deshpande received the United Nations Population Award 2025.
- Indian voluntary organisation Foundation to Educate Girls Globally received the Ramon Magsaysay Award 2025.
